Treatment of Mental Illness

The symptoms associated with mental illness can vary and may affect one's thoughts, emotions and behaviors.  Symptoms may also be physical such as headaches, stomach pains, and other forms of aches and pains. The major function of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating the mental health needs of patients. PJO Health treats symptoms of mental illness including

Per the CDC health guidelines, Mental illnesses are conditions that affect a person’s thinking, feeling, mood or behavior, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. Such conditions may be occasional or long-lasting (chronic) and affect someone’s ability to relate to others and function each day. One cannot talk of our health without addressing our Mental Health.

Our psychological, emotional and social well-being is affected one way or the other as we relate to people and handle stress or anxiety,  Mental health awareness is on the increase as efforts are made to ensure that those affected have the confidence to seek help without any social stigma.
